Hello MEMA Members!
Hello MEMA Members!!
Welcome to the new website! We have added some great new features to help maximize resources available to you, and increase interaction between members! Check out the new forum, calendar, and other cool features throughout the website… all designed for you!
I am very proud of the work and growth of the association. Our organization had a banner year of growth and opportunity in 2015. We continue to grow in membership and branch out to many areas inside and outside of our Southern California Region. This past year provided many opportunities for our members to become engaged in learning, meeting attendance, networking opportunities and we broadcasted considerable information via the website and email communications.
MEMA NorCal, our second chapter, had its first meeting this year! They held their meeting at the Sonoma Raceway, which included industry speakers and a ride around the racetrack in Toyota Camrys with professional racecar drivers. A very exciting way to kick-off the inaugural meeting! Our SoCal and Ohio chapters continued to have regular meetings with their members, providing useful and interesting information from industry and vendors. Our workshops proved to extremely valuable for our attendees.
We had a busy year with trade shows. MEMA continued to partner with Bobit Media at the GFX show, which was held in Denver. MEMA held a well-attended pre-conference session, which included an OEM panel with over 250 attendees!! We had another outstanding showing by our members at the Leading Fleet awards!! The awards were presented at the show and MEMA members continued to be well represented in several categories. This is truly remarkable!
This summer MEMA held a mock shop at the FTX show in Long Beach, thanks to Vice President Dan Berlenbach, who helped organize the event. Attendees were able to get a close look at municipal vehicles provided by MEMA SoCal members Long Beach, Culver City, Beverly Hills and the LA County Public Works department. Attendees could view technologies available to diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle engine and emissions diagnosis, witness demonstrations of software and equipment provided by vendors and discuss the technologies with vendor representatives. The FTX show was also a great venue to learn about new technologies and network with many vendor representatives and many association members.
MEMA Ohio partnered with Clean Fuels Ohio bring the first, Midwest Green Fleets Forum & Expo to Columbus. The event included the expo, the opportunity to tour manufacturers such as Parker Hannifin and Honda and participate in a ride-and-drive. The Green Fleet awards were presented and again, MEMA members from all chapters were recognized for their hard work and superior practices! There were over 300 in attendance at this inaugural event! I want to thank MEMA Ohio Kelly Reagan and his team for a great event!! Hold the date, as they are doing this conference again; September 26th, 27th & 28th 2016!!
I would like to thank our fantastic Board of Officers for their tireless efforts. They work diligently to provide truly valuable opportunities for all of our members. I would also like to thank our membership for their continued support. I am very grateful that our MEMA members are so generous with their time and knowledge. It’s this dedication to our industry, and those that provide services to us, that make MEMA such an exceptional organization!!
